MANILA, Philippines — The Energy Regulatory Commission (ERC) said stronger regulatory oversight was needed to combat market abuse in the power market.
At the recent Electricity Market Exchanges 2026, ERC Chair Francis Saturnino Juan called for “closer monitoring,” not just during his stint at the commission but for years to come, especially amid the “high concentration of market power in the hands of a few participants.”
