MANILA, Philippines – The Philippines’ renewable energy rollout remains slower than expected despite the government’s aggressive push to raise clean energy’s share in the power mix to 35% by 2030, according to the ERC chief.
Asked if the target remains doable, ERC chair Francis Saturnino Juan said: “The honest answer is: we are not on track at the pace we need to be, but we are accelerating.”

He said, however, that sluggish progress should not be blamed on a lack of ambition or government support, citing a strong pipeline of committed projects.
