The African Action Congress (AAC) has demanded the immediate suspension and cancellation of a reported N300 weekly levy imposed on Point-of-Sale (POS) operators in Olorunda Local Council Development Area (LCDA), Lagos State.
The party also gave the Council administration a seven-day ultimatum to explain the legal basis for the levy and provide details of monies collected from affected operators.
AAC in a statement issued through its Badagry Local Government Chapter, on Friday, noted that the demands followed a petition submitted at the Olorunda LCDA Secretariat on August 19 by Comrade Alfred O. Some-fun, Lead Human Rights Advocate of NEWS-SKY TV Reporters and Alfred-Speaks Movement, alongside members of the public and affected POS operators.
According to the party, the development was contained in a notice dated April 22, 2026, reportedly signed by the Executive Chairman of Olorunda LCDA, Hon. Ajose Peter Kumayon, and the Council Treasurer, Awusinu Olayinka.
