Police Minister Senzo Mchunu has been accused of influencing yet another witness to lie at the Madlanga Commission.
Police Minister Senzo Mchunu has been accused of making another attempt to influence testimony before the Madlanga Commission, with Colonel Deena Govender telling the inquiry the minister’s ally sought to persuade him to implicate KZN police commissioner Lieutenant-General Nhlanhla Mkhwanazi in extra-judicial killings.
Govender made the allegations while testifying on Friday, claiming he possesses a recording of a conversation involving Mavuso Ntandane, who he said repeatedly pressured him to make allegations against Mkhwanazi.
According to Govender, Ntandane met with him and continued trying to persuade him to implicate Mkhwanazi.
He said Ntandane called Mchunu in his presence.
