IDAC head, Andrea Johnson, allegedly compromised the investigation into Crime Intel. Head, Maj-Gen. Feroz Khan’s assault case.
Suspended Police Minister Senzo Mchunu allegedly told Investigating Directorate Against Corruption (IDAC) former head Advocate Andrea Johnson that he intended to "clean up" the SAPS Crime Intelligence unit, which is led by Lieutenant-General Dumisani Khumalo.
This was according to testimony by State Advocate Drushantha Ramsamy at the Madlanga Commission of Inquiry on Wednesday.
Ramsamy told the commission that Johnson had a late-night meeting with Mchunu at his residence on January 21, 2025.
Johnson allegedly shared the purpose of the meeting with her team under “Project Diversion”, an investigation allegedly designed to target high-profile police officers.
