Independent Directorate Against Corruption (IDAC) boss Andrea Johnson testified at the Madlanga Commission on Wednesday.

The Madlanga Commission heard on Wednesday that Police Minister Senzo Mchunu's office wrote a letter to Independent Directorate Against Corruption (IDAC) head Advocate Andrea Johnson to investigate allegations of interference in cases opened by Fadiel Adams, asking the minister to intervene.

This led to the ultimate arrest of Crime Intelligence boss Lieutenant-General Dumisani Khumalo and his co-accused.

The November 11, 2024 letter, signed by Mchunu's Chief of Staff, Cedric Nkabinde, forwarded Adams' complaint to Johnson for attention.

Adams had alleged that criminal dockets he opened in Cape Town and Soweto had been intercepted within the South African Police Service.
