The northeastern Aegean will host the 25th Aegean Regatta international offshore sailing race from August 22-28, with 75 crews and more than 450 athletes from seven countries competing.
The opening ceremony of Aegean Regatta 2026 is Saturday in Limnia, Chios, and the event concludes August 28 with a closing ceremony in Marathokampos, Samos. The route includes stops in Fournoi and Agathonisi.
Deputy Shipping and Island Policy Minister Stefanos Gkikas said the regatta unites maritime tradition with modern island dynamism, calling the Aegean a hub for sport and cooperation.
He added that this year’s route links island destinations with cultural heritage while boosting communities.
