The Anti-Narcotics Cell of the Central District Police in New Delhi has arrested a 26-year-old Nigerian man, Chidera Jonathan, for alleged drug trafficking in India.
According to a report by an Indian news outlet, The Hawk, on Thursday, Jonathan was arrested on Wednesday with 23.74 grammes of MDMA, which the police described as a commercial quantity.
The report added that the suspect was also wanted under Operation VISTA, an initiative targeting foreign nationals allegedly staying in India after the expiration of their visas.
His arrest, according to the police, followed a tip-off received by an Assistant Sub-Inspector, Satveer, on Tuesday, about a Nigerian national allegedly involved in supplying drugs in the Central District.
