Indian authorities have arrested a Nigerian national, Temple Osuji, and 11 other suspected drug traffickers in India’s capital, New Delhi.
According to a report by the Times of India on Wednesday, the operations were carried out by the Outer North Delhi Police, leading to the seizure of cocaine, heroin, MDMA, cannabis, poppy husk and psychotropic tablets.
Several suspected drug supply networks were dismantled by the anti-narcotics police.
Police said one of the operations resulted in the arrest of five suspects, including Osuji, and the recovery of 13.99 grammes of cocaine, 0.50 grammes of MDMA and 0.55 grammea of heroin.
The Deputy Commissioner of Police, Shobhit Saksena, said the investigation began on June 28 after officers intercepted a 32-year-old suspect, Umesh, at Mukarba Chowk during a routine check.
