A Sub-Inspector of Police attached to the Rajampet police station in Kamareddy district was caught by the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) while accepting a ₹30,000 bribe at his residence on Thursday.The ACB identified the official as Duvvala Anjaneyulu. He allegedly demanded bribe from the complainant in return for granting station bail to the complainant’s son in a case and to extend favour while filing the charge sheet. The tainted amount of ₹30,000 was recovered from his possession at his instance, the ACB said.The official was arrested and was being produced before the II Additional Special Judge for Trial of SPE and ACB Cases at Nampally, Hyderabad. The case is under investigation.The ACB has appealed to the public to report demands for bribes by public servants on its toll-free number 1064.
