The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB), on Thursday, caught a revenue inspector while he was allegedly accepting ₹30,000, as part of a ₹40,000 bribe in Jagtial district.Manchikatla Rahul, Revenue Inspector at the Beerpur Tahsildar’s office, was caught by the ACB Karimnagar unit at the complainant’s residence at Siripuram Colony, while he was taking the bribe.According to the ACB, Rahul had initially demanded ₹50,000 from the complainant for conducting a field survey of their land and issuing a report required for registration and issuance of a Pattadar passbook.Following a request from the complainant, the official allegedly reduced the demand to ₹40,000. Of this, ₹30,000 was paid on Thursday and the remaining ₹10,000 after the work was completed.The ACB recovered the tainted amount from Rahul and arrested him. He was produced before the Special Judge for SPE and ACB Cases, Karimnagar. The case is under investigation.The identity and details of the complainant have been withheld for security reasons.
