A forest range officer working in Jagtial district was arrested by the Anti-Corruption Bureau on Thursday (June 4, 2026) for demanding and accepting a bribe of ₹80,000. The accused officer was identified as 57-year-old Gulam Moinuddin, posted at the Kodimyal range.According to the ACB, the officer had demanded ₹2 lakh for issuing permission for felling 120 teak trees along with transport permits. He had already received ₹1 lakh earlier, and later accepted the remaining ₹80,000 as a “reduced” final payment.The accused officer was trapped by the ACB Karimnagar unit at his office while receiving the tainted amount, which was recovered from his table drawer.He has been taken into custody and was produced before the special court for SPE and ACB cases in Karimnagar. The case is under investigation.The bureau appealed to the public to report any demand for bribes on the toll-free number 1064 or through official social media channels.
