A Norwegian developer has withdrawn their proposal to build a 50MW data center in the city of Oton, Philippines.
Daniel Stefan Robertsen, a Norwegian national who called himself the managing director of a data center development company called Norway Green Energy, withdrew the application on Sunday 16 August, two days after a testy public consultation which concluded with Robertsen threatening reporters covering the event.

“If you think what I’ve said is something toxic and you don’t want it, let’s stop the discussion now,” Robertsen was filmed saying at the end of the consultation on Friday, 14 August.
Robertsen then told journalists that they were violating the Philippines’ privacy laws by filming him.
