The Independent National Electoral Commission has crossed the 72 per cent mark in uploading results from Saturday’s Osun State governorship election to its Result Viewing portal.
Checks by our correspondent on the INEC Results Viewing Portal as of 7pm show that 2,700 polling unit results have been uploaded out of an expected 3,763, representing 60.22 per cent of the total, up from 1,755 results, or 46.64 per cent, about 21 minutes earlier.
Data from the portal showed the last upload was recorded at 7pm on Saturday, from polling unit TOWN HALL, ASIPA PU Code: 29/15/01/004 in Ife North Local Government Area, as collation continued across the state’s 30 local government areas. PUNCHONLINE reports that Governor Ademola Adeleke of the Accord Party is seeking re-election against Bola Oyebamiji of the All Progressives Congress, Najeem Salaam of the African Democratic Congress and other candidates, is being closely monitored by voters and election observers on the IReV platform, which INEC introduced to enhance transparency in result collation by allowing polling unit-level results to be viewed in real time.
