Early Polling Unit Opening Rates

At least 94.5 percent (3,556) of the 3,763 polling units across Osun State opened by 8:30 a.m. during the governorship election, according to preliminary observations from the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) Situation Room.

According to INEC Director of Voter Education, the election situation report, the remaining 207 polling units, or 5.5 per cent, experienced minor delays in opening. However, all affected polling units became operational by 9:00 a.m.

The report also stated that the activation of the Registration Area Centres (RACs), which serve as staging points for election officials and materials, was successfully completed at 6:09 p.m. on Friday. The activation recorded a 100 per cent completion rate ahead of the governorship poll.
