Presenting certificates to the school toppers in the recently concluded 10th and plus two examinations, the Corporation Commissioner Gaurav Kumar and Mayor (in-charge) T. Nagarajan appealed to the girl students to equip knowledge in a sustained manner here on Saturday.Hoisting the national flag at the Anna Maaligai, the headquarters of the civic body, the officials also honoured the family members of freedom fighters.On the occasion, conservancy workers, health department officials and others, including a few NGOs, were presented with certificates of merit by the Commissioner and MLA S Karthikeyan.Two students, who had taken the medical courses through the 7.5 % horizontal reservation were also honoured. The students from various Corporation schools presented cultural programs. The talents were recognised by the public.
