Ofcom has revealed simple tricks that could dramatically boost your home wifi speed - and it all comes down to where you place your router.

The telecoms regulator warns that poor router placement is sabotaging internet speeds for millions of Brits.

Router position can make a "massive difference" to your service quality, according to official guidance.

"Where your router is placed can affect your wifi," Ofcom explains.

"Wifi signals weaken as they pass through objects and some materials block the signal more than others." Water, metal and glass are the worst culprits for blocking signals, so keep routers away from radiators and fish tanks.
