MANILA, Philippines — The camp of Vice President Sara Duterte on Friday said it is filing a manifestation to conduct oral arguments in a bid to dismiss the grave threats case filed against her.
This came after the Department of Justice (DOJ) filed a complaint of three counts of grave threats against Duterte before the Quezon City Regional Trial Court.
The case stemmed from an inquiry by the National Bureau of Investigation into Duterte’s Nov. 23, 2024 online press conference wherein she said she had talked to someone to have President Marcos, first lady Liza Araneta-Marcos and then House Speaker Martin Romualdez killed if she herself is killed.
That confessed slay plot, which her supporters had played down as being merely “conditional,” also constitutes the last of four articles of impeachment against the Vice President now being heard in her impeachment trial.
