Captured Russian soldier who raped civilian woman in Donetsk Oblast for two months sentenced to 12 years in prison

A Russian serviceman has been sentenced in Donetsk Oblast for repeatedly raping a civilian woman in a village in the Pokrovsk district over a period of two months.

The 50-year-old man, from Russia's Sverdlovsk Oblast, had spent 32 years in prison for robbery and armed robbery. While serving his sentence, he signed a contract with the Russian Armed Forces and became a rifleman with the 114th Guards Motor Rifle Brigade of the 51st Guards Combined Arms Army.
