A documentary on the horrors faced by the people during the partition of India was screened at the Regional Science Centre Tirupati (RSCT) for school and college students on Friday (August 14, 2026).The event was conducted by RSCT along with Indira Gandhi National Centre for Arts (IGNCA), both functioning under the Union Ministry of Culture, in solemn remembrance of the lives lost and displaced during the 1947 partition.Prof. Ganapati Bhat from National Sanskrit University and Prof. Madhuri Paradesi from Sri Padmavati Women’s University (SPMVV) explained the socio-cultural and psychological impact of the partition. “Remembrance, reconciliation, and historical awareness is important for the present generation,” said Prof. Bhat.A panel and digital exhibition was opened to highlight the horrors of partition in the form of archival visuals, survivor narratives, and historical documents.“These exhibits aim to educate and engage visitors on the legacy of the partition and its relevance,” said IGNCA Tirupati Chapter Director K.T.V. Raghavan and RSCT Project Director K. Srinivasa Nehru.Tiranga RallyA 1,000-foot-long tricolour was taken out as part of ‘Har Ghar Tiranga Yatra’ within the premises of the centre by students, symbolising unity, resilience, and national pride.
