Office-bearers of the Andhra Pradesh Lorry Owners’ Association (APLOA) on Friday met Kona Sasidhar, who recently assumed charge as Secretary of Transport, Roads and Buildings Department, at the Secretariat and conveyed their good wishes for his new assignment.Later, in a statement, APLOA general secretary Y. V, Eswara Rao said: “Several issues concerning the transport sector were discussed.” In particular, the leaders brought to his attention the issue of counter-signature permits between Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, which have been pending for the past 12 years, and requested him to take special initiative to resolve the matter.Mr. Sasidhar enquired about the problems currently being faced by the transport industry, the prevailing situation in the sector and other key issues.
