Susepnded member of Parliament Fadiel Adams at Pinetown Magistrate Court on Friday morning.

Suspended MP Fadiel Adams has slammed the decision to transfer his fraud and administration of justice case to the Pinetown Regional Court, dismissing the move as an attempt to create drama because the charges he faces are Schedule 1 offences with no prescribed minimum sentence.

Adams spoke outside the Pinetown Magistrate’s Court following his brief appearance in court.

He is accused of conducting separate interviews with two awaiting-trial inmates under the guise of performing official parliamentary duties.

One of the inmates he visited was convicted hitman Sibusiso Ncengwa, who is serving a sentence for the murder of ANC Youth League leader Sindiso Magaqa.
