MK Party deputy president Duduzane Zuma has rejected speculation that his appointment to the party’s senior leadership is part of a succession plan for his father, former president Jacob Zuma, saying he is focused on building the party and moving South Africa forward.

Zuma was appointed first deputy president of the MK Party by his father earlier this month as part of a reshuffle of the party’s leadership.

Speaking at the BizNews conference, Zuma dismissed questions about succession and said his focus was on his responsibilities within the party.

“People want to talk about succession, they want to talk about a legacy project. I’m here to do my job, that’s it,” Zuma said.
