Duduzane Zuma, newly appointed deputy president of the MK Party, emphasises his commitment to party building and long-term economic development, dismissing succession speculation regarding his father, former president Jacob Zuma.
Zuma was appointed first deputy president of the MK Party by his father earlier this month as part of a reshuffle of the party’s leadership.
Speaking at the BizNews conference, Zuma dismissed questions about succession and said his focus was on his responsibilities within the party.
“People want to talk about succession, they want to talk about a legacy project. I’m here to do my job, that’s it,” Zuma said.
“I’m here to do exactly what it is that you’re thinking, to create a better country. I’m here to move the country forward. I’m here to make sure that everyone’s rights are respected and everyone has fair opportunity.”
