The 11th annual TOA Games got underway at the Apia Park Sports Complex with a record international turnout adding another level of competition to the event.
Organised alongside CrossFit Fatu Toa, the competition has attracted local and overseas athletes for a demanding series of workouts testing strength, stamina and endurance.
This year's event has drawn an unprecedented number of international competitors, with visiting athletes going head-to-head with local favourites.
Competition on Friday included worm bag movements, rope climbs and high-intensity cardio exercises designed to test athletes across different areas of functional fitness.
Despite the rivalry on the competition floor, athletes and spectators said the atmosphere remained supportive.
