New details have emerged about the most eagerly awaited wedding of the year. The newspaper "Jornal de Notícias" (source in Portuguese) obtained the marriage certificate between Cristiano Ronaldo and Georgina Rodríguez, reporting that the civil ceremony took place at the couple’s home in Cascais on Tuesday 11 August, at 1.30 pm.
Also present at the ceremony were four witnesses, in addition to the couple’s five children, as had initially been revealed by the agency representing the player. They were: Miguel Paixão, a friend of the footballer since his youth days at Sporting,Ivana Rodríguez, Georgina’s sister, and José Rodríguez Sangil and Mónica González Martínez, a Spanish jeweller and his wife.
The marriage was formalised by Maria Manuel Folhadela de Oliveira, a registrar who travelled from the city of Porto to perform the act.
