Abdeslam Ouaddou is not yet feeling the pressure of defending the Betway Premiership, but he urged most of his Bafana Bafana internationals to quickly reset and fully focus on the team’s ambitions this season.
Orlando Pirates’ title defence hit a bump on Wednesday night. They dropped their first points of the season after drawing 1-1 with AmaZulu at Kings Park in Durban, following their 2–0 win over rookies Milford in the season opener at home.
Tshepang Moremi opened the scoring for the Sea Robbers – who were on a high after also reaching the semi-finals of their MTN8 title defence. However, a penalty from Thando Ngwenya deep in second-half stoppage time ensured that the points were shared on the night.
Pirates had also arrived at the match under the cloud of missing Thalente Mbatha and Evidence Makgopa, who were ruled out after sustaining injuries following their return from the World Cup with Bafana, where they achieved a historic knockout stage finish.
