The SA Hockey U21 IPT is heading for a thrilling climax on Friday, with North West facing Western Province in Friday's decider in the women's division.
North West and Western Province will contest the women’s final of the South African Hockey U21 IPT in Gqeberha on Friday after both survived dramatic semi-final encounters on Thursday.
North West secured their place in the decider with a narrow 1-0 victory over the SA U18 Girls, with Germarrie Spershott scoring the only goal of the contest in the 60th minute. Spershott converted from a penalty corner to end the U18 Girls’ unbeaten run and send North West through to the final.
The result brought an end to an impressive campaign from the invited national age-group side, who had topped Pool A with three wins from three.
The U18 Girls had opened their campaign with victories over Southern Gauteng and Northerns Blues before completing their perfect pool-stage record with a convincing 5-1 win over WP Peninsula.
