Chelsea and Napoli have struck a verbal agreement to send defender Benoit Badiashile to the Italian club on loan, complete with a fee structure, add-ons, a buy option, and full salary coverage.

The loan fee sits at €3 million, with an additional €1 million in potential add-ons tied to performance or appearance benchmarks. The buy option, depending on which report you trust, ranges anywhere from €15 million to €27 million.

The numbers behind the move

Badiashile has reportedly agreed to personal terms with Napoli. His contract at the Italian club would run through 2031, carrying an annual salary of €2.8 million.

Chelsea originally paid AS Monaco a reported €38 million for Badiashile back in January 2023. If Napoli exercises the buy option at the lower end of the reported range, Chelsea would be looking at a loss north of €20 million on the deal. Even at the upper end of €27 million, the club wouldn’t come close to recouping its original outlay.
