As per Samsung, the plant has moved from equipment installation to mass production in just 6 months. FläktGroup plans to gradually increase production capacity to up to 6,500 HVAC units annually.What Will Samsung's Pune Plant Manufacture?The facility will manufacture several FläktGroup cooling solutions which aim at AI data centres and other critical infrastructure. These include Air Handling Units (AHUs), Fan Wall Units (FWUs) and Computer Air Handlers (CRAHs). AHUs use chilled water to cool indoor environments. This also helps in maintaining air quality. FWUs use multiple high-capacity fans to remove heat from server environments, while CRAHs are designed for management of temperature, humidity and air quality around mission-critical IT equipment.Why AI Data Centre Cooling Is Important?The expansion of AI infrastructure is increasing the need for advanced data centre cooling. AI data centres largely rely on high-performance computing infrastructure that generates a huge amount of heat. This makes it essential for thermal management essential for maintaining large-scale IT operations. Samsung is now looking to combine FläktGroup's specialised HVAC and critical-cooling expertise with its AI and technology capabilities.
