JALINGO: The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU), Taraba State University (TSU) branch, has issued a 14-day ultimatum to the Taraba State Government to implement outstanding agreements with the union or face industrial action.
The branch Chairman, Dr. Joshua Garba Mbave, disclosed this on Thursday following a resolution of the union’s congress.
Mbave said the ultimatum was a formal demand for immediate compliance with the union’s demands and not an invitation for fresh negotiations.
In a statement issued to journalists, he urged the Taraba State Government, the university’s Governing Council and management to urgently address the outstanding issues, stressing that the patience of lecturers should not be mistaken for surrender.
