GOMBE: The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU), Gombe State University (GSU) Branch, has issued a 14-day ultimatum to the Gombe State Government to resolve its outstanding demands or face a total, comprehensive and indefinite strike.

The branch Chairman, Dr Mustapha Shehu Muhammad, disclosed this while speaking with Vanguard in Gombe on Thursday.

Muhammad said the ultimatum followed a directive from the National Executive Council (NEC) of ASUU, mandating branches with unresolved issues to issue 14-day ultimatums to their respective governments before embarking on industrial action.

He said the union’s grievances included the non-implementation of the 2025 agreement between ASUU and the Federal Government, as well as outstanding wage and allowance arrears owed academic staff.
