Leila Moallemi, a resident of Mashhad currently held in the city’s Vakilabad Prison, has been sentenced to 10 years in prison by the Mashhad Revolutionary Court.

According to HRANA, an informed source close to Moallemi’s family confirmed that the verdict was recently served on her inside the prison, where she remains incarcerated in the political ward of Vakilabad.

The sentencing stems from allegations that she transmitted a voice message and shared information with an overseas news outlet during the wartime period.

At the time of publication, further details regarding the specific charges, the exact branch of the Revolutionary Court that issued the ruling, or the status of an appeal remain unavailable.

On July 19, the Iranian Judiciary issued a formal warning stating that publishing news, photos, or videos deemed by judicial authorities to “endanger national security” or “cause public panic” could fall under the Law Aggravating Punishment for Espionage and Cooperation with Israel and Hostile States. Under guidelines announced by the Judiciary, producing or sharing such content carries penalties ranging from 10 to 15 years in prison, along with a permanent bar from public service employment.
