Aug. 13 (UPI) -- Lionsgate released the trailer for Beware Boiúna on Thursday. The film opens Oct. 2 in theaters.
Logan Marshall-Green, Jessica Rothe and Kiana Madeira play medical workers sailing down the Amazon. They encounter Boiúna, a legendary ancient snake who picks them and others off in the jungle.
Madeira's character calls Boiúna "mother of the waters" and continues, "when there is balance she rests. Imbalance, she defends."
Mike P. Nelson directed Beward Boiúna. Nelson spoke to UPI in December for his Silent Night, Deadly Night remake.
