Crush Deadline reports Julius Avery (The Pope’s Exorcist, Overlord) is attached to direct Crush, a “snake-themed survival thriller for 20th Century Studios.” The film is said to follow “a woman hiking alone in the Everglades who wakes to find herself trapped in the crushing coils of a massive python, fighting to stay alive as every breath brings her closer to death.” According to the outlet, the picture “is said to be inspired by true events” and “told primarily in real time.” Ice Cream Man Variety reports Eli Roth has teamed with the San Francisco-based ice cream company, Humphry Slocombe, on a promotional tie-in flavor for his new horror film, Ice Cream Man. Called “Brain Freeze,” the limited-edition flavor “will be available throughout the month of August at all eight Humphry Slocombe Bay Area scoop shops” and is described as a “playful nod to classic bubblegum ice cream” with “swirls of house-made strawberry jam.” Nationwide delivery will also become available through Goldbelly. Alpha Gang Discussing Film has our first look at the cast of Alpha Gang, the new film from the Zellner Brothers (Sasquatch Sunset) in which “a group of alien invaders [are] sent to conquer Earth.
