Lindokuhle Thabani Mkhwanazi, Lindani Zenzele Ndimande, Siyanda Eddie Myeza, Mziwethemba Gwabeni, Lindokuhle Mhlaliseni Mkhwanazi, and brothers Malusi and Siyabonga Ndimande in court for the murder of Kiernan 'AKA' Forbes.
Seven men accused of the brutal murders of South African rapper Kiernan ‘AKA’ Forbes and his friend Tebello ‘Tibz’ Motsoane have been temporarily moved from the Super Maximum Prison at Ebongweni back to Westville Prison.
This was revealed by Deputy Director of Public Prosecutions Advocate Lawrence Gcaba on Thursday morning at the Durban High Court during the pre-trial conference of Lindokuhle Thabani Mkhwanazi, Lindani Zenzele Ndimande, Siyanda Eddie Myeza, Mziwethemba Gwabeni, Lindokuhle Mhlaliseni Mkhwanazi, and brothers Malusi and Siyabonga Ndimande.
Gcaba told the court that the State had made every effort to have the seven accused brought back to Durban to allow them to consult with their legal representatives.
Previously, the defence had complained that the strict restrictions at the maximum-security facility made it difficult to consult properly with their clients. Advocate Simphiwe Mlotshwa had told the court that consultations were limited to 30 minutes, while telephone consultations were restricted to 10 minutes.
