The body of a 17-year-old boy who died on the island of Kimolos, southern Greece, in a suspected electrocution was transferred to the Piraeus Forensic Medical Service on Thursday, as part of the ongoing investigation.
The teen was found unconscious on August 9 in the outdoor bathroom of the house his family was staying in for the summer.
Investigators are focusing their attention on the electrical installation of the building. Based on the information so far, the most likely scenario is that his death was caused by electric shock.
The family lives permanently in Ireland and was visiting Kimolos, the mother’s hometown, for summer vacation.
In the past, the owner had requested a name change on the electricity bill and an official installer’s declaration had been issued as part of the process. According to information, the specific document was signed by the mayor of the island in his professional capacity as an electrician.
