Bengaluru new parking rules: Parking on road may cost car owners up to Rs 25,000 a year under proposed policy

Bengaluru residents may soon have to pay an annual fee of up to Rs 25,000 to park cars on residential roads under a draft parking policy issued by the Karnataka government.

The proposed Greater Bengaluru Area (Parking) Rules, 2026 also include hourly charges for on-street parking on other roads, with car parking rates ranging from Rs 40 to Rs 80 an hour depending on the road category, a NDTV report stated.Bengaluru residential parking chargesThe draft rules propose annual parking permits for vehicles parked on residential roads.

The fee would depend on the type of vehicle.Small cars may attract an annual permit fee of Rs 15,000.
