LUCENA CITY – Two seaports in Quezon province are set for restoration and improvement as the government moves to strengthen transportation and trade infrastructure and enhance the movement of people and goods.

Quezon Gov. Angelina Tan and Philippine Ports Authority (PPA) General Manager Jay Santiago inspected the ongoing restoration of the Siain Port in Plaridel town on Wednesday, the Public Information Office (PIO) said Thursday.

“Once completed, the port is expected to have greater capacity and improved facilities and services, which could boost the movement of products and goods into and out of Quezon,” the PIO said, as well as build opportunities for businesses, employment and investments in Plaridel and neighboring municipalities. No technical details about the port upgrade have been made available at press time.
