MANILA, Philippines — The expanded number coding scheme was suspended on Thursday afternoon, Aug. 13, due to the effects of the southwest monsoon, or habagat, the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) announced.

“MMDA reminder: plan your trip, drive carefully, and stay tuned for important information regarding weather conditions,” the MMDA stated in an advisory posted at 3:52 p.m. on Facebook.

The MMDA lifts the number coding scheme during regular and special non-working holidays, severe weather conditions, suspended government work, and presidential proclamations.
