The Civil Aviation Authority will form a committee to investigate the circumstances surrounding the August 7 landing of a helicopter on Milos’ Sarakiniko beach, an area known for its volcanic white rocks.
The decision follows the report filed on Wednesday by the helicopter pilot.
The purpose of the panel, according to sources from the authority, is to collect evidence and assess the specific flight’s compliance with the current regulatory and operational framework regarding the submission and amendment of flight plans.
After the inquiry is completed, the Committee will submit its findings to the head of the Authority and propose appropriate actions.
