Reverend Oscar Bougardt
A pastor who said gay people belonged in cages and that 99% of paedophiles were homosexual now wants a queer-free Cape Town.
Reverend Oscar Bougardt posted the appeal on Facebook on Wednesday, calling for what he wrote as an "LGBQI+ free" Cape Town.
He urged readers to vote for him for mayor under the banner of the Straight Party when the country goes to the polls in the local government elections on November 4.
Asked to confirm he was standing, Bougardt told IOL he was not a candidate and that the post set out only what he would do if he held the office.
