VALENCIA CITY, Bukidnon – What was meant to be an ordinary workday for plantation personnel ended in tragedy on Wednesday, after an Elf truck carrying agricultural workers crashed in a pineapple field here, leaving two dead and 14 others injured.

Corporal John Mark Balabagno, traffic investigator of the Valencia City Police Station, identified the fatalities as Myrna Bacong, 44, a resident of Purok 5, Barangay Lurugan, and Ludyvina Aliday, 48, a resident of Purok 8, Barangay Mailag.

The two women were rushed to a nearby hospital but were declared dead on arrival by attending physicians.
