Are you always motivated to work out? If you are, what is your secret? How many of you have walked into the gym or stepped onto the track feeling sluggish and not quite mentally ready to train? But you showed up regardless, because you know that the solution is to “do the warmup.” The warmup starts, even though it is the last thing you feel like doing, but you do it anyway. Then something shifts. Five to 10 minutes into your warmup, the brain fog clears, your joints feel lubricated, your core temperature rises, and suddenly you are ready to crush your session. When you have a warmup that works that well, never change it! That is the true test of a warmup, and finding it takes time depending on what works for you. If you can start a warmup feeling sluggish and unprepared but walk out of it five to 10 minutes later feeling locked in and ready to train, you have found gold. You have found the secret! It is not only a physical hack to feeling better but also a mental hack because you know how to show up even when you are not feeling like it, because you know that warmup you do is going to change everything.
