The brand new release can be streamed online for free, giving viewers never before seen access12:36, 12 Aug 2026BBC viewers have been left outraged just minutes in to a brand new true crime documentary series with a never before seen twist.‌Murder Trial is a series that offers unprecedented access into Scotland's High Courts plunging viewers straight into the heart of a real-life murder trial.‌With cameras set up inside the courtroom, viewers witness the court proceedings play out in real time, witnessing everything from witness examinations right through to sentencing remarks.‌This unprecedented access gives a unique insight into how criminal proceedings play out, with viewers seeing what it is actually like to be on the jury within the courtroom.Two new episodes, Death of a Dog Walker, were released yesterday (August 11) on BBC iPlayer and BBC Scotland, with the first instalment also airing on BBC Two tonight (August 12) at 9pm.‌It explores the trial of David Campbell who stood accused of killing ex-colleague Brian Low. The BBC has teased: "Guilty or not guilty? Haunting cold cases and gripping investigations unfold as Murder suspects stand trial and victim’s families seek justice in Scotland’s High Courts."However, with dozens tuning in to the brand new release, it wasn't long before viewers were outraged with what they saw, turning their attention to suspect David Campbell, who at times was seen smirking within the courtroom.Taking to social media, one person wrote: "Couldn't believe what I was watching!"
