To justify the regularity of its confidential funds spending in 2022, the Office of the Vice President cited its mounted events which took place before it was authorized to disburse the funds

During the impeachment trial of Vice President Sara Duterte on Tuesday, August 11, the prosecution presented the Office of the Vice President’s response to the notice of suspension issued by the Commission on Audit (COA) on the OVP’s P125-million confidential spending in December 2022.

To justify the regularity of the spending, the OVP cited its mounted events such as a gift-giving activity in Samar, Christmas parties in Manila and Quezon City, and tree-planting in Leyte.
