Zodwa Prudence Magwaza was murdered by her boyfriend at the Cornubia Housing Settlement in Durban during Women's Month.
A Durban woman lost her life just eight days after the National Council on Gender Based Violence and Femicide (GBVF) was appointed on August 1, 2026.
Zodwa Prudence Magwaza, 43, was allegedly killed by her boyfriend at the home where she lived with her two children at Cornubia Housing settlement on Saturday. The provincial police spokesperson, Robert Netshiunda, said Magwaza was found with assault wounds.
“The deceased was assaulted by her boyfriend. She tried to run for help but reportedly collapsed at the neighbour's doorstep, where she died."
Netshiunda said that Verulam SAPS are investigating a case of murder.
