A Durban family is still coming to grips with the murder of Zodwa Prudence Magwaza in Cornubia on Saturday.

The 43-year-old mother of two was physically assaulted and left for dead at her home in the Cornubia Housing Scheme, north of Durban. DA eThekwini Ward 102 Councillor Rory Macpherson visited the family on Tuesday to empathise with them and establish if the family had received any counselling.

Macpherson said Magwaza was recently relocated from the Chatsworth area as part of the eThekwini Municipality’s flood victim relocation programme.

Private Security company Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) Prem Balram said witnesses at the scene told him that Magwaza had been assaulted and strangled allegedly by her boyfriend.
