Nigeria’s creative sector is seeking stronger collaboration among investors, government, financial institutions and technology companies to unlock growth and turn the industry’s cultural influence into greater economic value.

The call was made by stakeholders at the second edition of the QEDNG Creative Powerhouse Summit in Lagos on Tuesday, where industry leaders, policymakers and business executives discussed investment, innovation and opportunities for expansion in the creative economy.

The Founder of Chams Holdco, Demola Aladekomo, said Nigeria’s creative economy could rival the oil sector if adequately funded, structured and treated as a serious industry rather than a pastime.

Aladekomo, who was chairman of the occasion, said Nigeria was not short of creativity but had yet to fully recognise and capture its economic and strategic value.

He said Nigerian music travels farther than the country’s diplomats, while Nollywood films and fashion continue to project Nigerian stories and influence global audiences.
