District Collector M.S. Madhavikkutty on Tuesday (August 11) inaugurated an ‘Operation Hot Spot’ campaign, an initiative of the Local Self-Government department (LSGD) to ensure proper waste management and strengthen enforcement activities in Kozhikode.​Officials said inspections would be conducted at establishments discharging wastewater, facilities accommodating more than 100 people, and premises where migrant workers reside, with a focus on sanitation arrangements. Local self-government institutions would also inspect water tanks at hotels and public institutions.​Inspections will be conducted at identified hotspots on August 18, large-scale waste-generating establishments on August 20, and water tanks in establishments on August 22. The activities will be monitored and reviewed at the block, municipal and Corporation levels.​All inspection-related activities will be recorded on the LSGD’s war-room portal.​ LSGD District Joint Director N.K.
